Lorraine Madeline (Hourihan) Francioso, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Anthony D. Francioso. Daughter of the late Daniel P. and Mary A. (Connolly) Hourihan, she was born in Boston and raised in Roslindale. She was a graduate of Roslindale High School. Lorraine was a resident of Stoughton for 60 years and wintered in Naples, Florida for many years. She was a paraprofessional for Stoughton Public Schools, mainly working at the Gibbons Elementary School before retiring in 1998. She also volunteered for the Stoughton Visiting Nurses Association (VNA). An avid Patriots fan, Lorraine also enjoyed dancing, music, shopping, dinner with friends and traveling. She was a member of the Holiday Committee at Pond View Village in Stoughton and helped in coordinating activities there. Holidays were always special to her, and she loved to decorate and spend time with her beloved family and pets.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Paul M. Francioso and his wife Mary of Easton, Lisa M. Francioso Sullivan and her husband Joe of Wareham and Karen A. Howe and her husband David. She was the grandmother of Danielle, Cailey, Alicia, Nina, Nikki and David and great-grandmother of Brooklyn, London, Stella, Harper, and Luke. She was the sister of the late Harold, John, Daniel, and Ann and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, October 31 from 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine‘s memory may be made to the Stoughton Public Health and VNA, 10 Pearl St., 2nd Floor, Stoughton, MA 02072.
