Lorraine M. (Smigliani) Foxx, 79, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home in Stoughton after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Thomas P. Foxx. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. Mrs. Foxx was also a graduate of the Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton for 5 years before becoming a Nurse in the Stoughton School System at the Jones School. She retired in 2001 as the Head of School Nursing. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and a member of the Daughters of Italy, Minerva Lodge. Mrs. Foxx enjoyed her work and in her free time enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Foxx is survived by her three sons; Thomas P. Foxx and his wife Kristen of Dedham, William R. Foxx and his wife Jeannine of NY and Brian M. Foxx and his wife Tara of Easton. She was the grandmother of Cassie, Billy, Erin, Kyle and Megan Foxx. She was the sister of Paul Smigliani of CA, Pauline DePietro of Seekonk and the late Ralph L. Smigliani. She is also survived by her brother in law James F. Foxx of Foxboro.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 8:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Church St., Foxboro at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesay from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, 01701.
