Lino S. Garcia, 72, died Monday, October 7, 2019, at the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. He was the husband of 47 years of Fatima M. (Salvador) Garcia. Born on the island of Flores in the Azores, Portugal, he came to the States in 1971 and settled in Stoughton. While in Portugal, he was a member of the Portuguese Army and served in Africa. Mr. Garcia worked as a Glass Cutter for Shaw Glass in Easton for several years. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Lino was a member of Club Luis Camoes and, in his free time, enjoyed building, carpentry, gardening and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Lino is survived by his daughter, Jennifer G. Yanikoski and her husband Michael of Stoughton and was predeceased by his son, Jorge Garcia. He was the brother of Jose Garcia, Helder Garcia Octavia Ricardo and Antonio Garcia, all of Stoughton and Octavio Garcia of CA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his beloved granddaughter Victoria Yanikoski.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday, October 10, from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
