Linda Ellen (Moran) Marchant

It is with profound sadness to announce the passing of Linda Ellen (Moran) Marchant, who passed January 23rd, 2022, age 73. She battled lung cancer for two years and was in remission, but in the end, she succumbed to COVID-19. She passed away in her husband's arms. Linda was born in Boston on August 7th, 1948 to the late Conchetta G. (Antonelli) and Joseph P. Moran. After school, she worked at Continental Insurance Company in Boston. After her children grew up, she opened a party decorating company, and later started her career at Liberty Mutual Insurance where she made so many long-lasting friendships. In 1965 she met the love of her life, John R. Marchant at the Stoughton Armory dance, and they wed in 1970 at Blue Hills Country Club in Canton. They then went on to have two children, Melissa and John. Being a mother was her greatest achievement. She loved her family and instilled strong values in her children that have served them well. Linda excelled at motherhood and was the foundation of her family. She was an excellent gift giver, always knew the right thing to say and never missed a special date. She was a selfless mother, always encouraging her children and was their constant cheerleader and supporter. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Linda was passionate about Foster Care and a was big advocate. She loved to fill her home with warmth and kindness and her dream was to have every child be in a loving home. When she retired, she fostered many children which eventually lead to her adopting her two little girls Laura and Piper. In her spare time, she loved to crochet blankets, hats and scarfs for family and friends. She was an amazing cook, and her family called her the "Food Pusher". She was a diehard Boston Red Sox fan and never missed a game – you could always hear her cheering loud and proud! She had a lifelong friend Sandra Noe, with whom she shared a special bond with. They took many day trips and adventures, and Sandra also helped take her into Dana Farber for treatments on numerous occasions. They truly were two peas in a pod.

In addition to her husband John, she is survived by her children Melissa J. Hernandez-Marchant, John B. Marchant, Laura S. Marchant and Piper J. Marchant. She is also survived by her brother James Moran and his wife Tina, her twin sisters Mervina Johnson and her husband Earl and Marie Saraceno and her husband Mike and her baby sister Susan Moran. She was predeceased by her late brother Joseph Moran, Jr. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Anne Moran, and Candy Marchant as well as her brothers-in-law Phil Marchant and his wife Jodie and Kenny Marchant, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and her 'fur-grandchild Tessa.
