Linda M. (Bettencourt) Lima, 70, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, June 9, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Manuel A. Lima for 51 years. Daughter of the late Guilherme and Eugenia (Reis) Bettencourt, she was born in Santa Cruz da Graciosa, Azores, Portugal and raised in Connecticut. She resided in Stoughton for 55 years. Linda worked for Northrop Grumman in Norwood for over 30 years before retiring 10 years ago. She was a member of Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton. Mrs. Lima was also a longtime member of the dance group, Rancho Folclórico of Stoughton. She enjoyed cooking but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Linda is survived by her children, Gina M. DaSilva, Kevin M. Lima, Stoughton PD and his wife Isabel and William M. Lima and his wife Christine all of Stoughton. She was the grandmother of Brandon Lima, USMC, Bret Lima, USMC, Austin Lima, Amanda DaSilva, Jeffrey DaSilva, Adriana Lima, Robert Silveira, Makayla Silveira, Tania Silveira and Erica DeSousa. She was the sister of Irene Bigelow of Florida and the late Lourdes Bettencourt, Eugene Bettencourt, Mary Krashan and Eziquel Bettencourt. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Friday, June 14 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
