Lillian C. (Corbin) Welch, 87, died Wednesday, March 1 at her home surrounded by her family under the care of Old Colony Hospice. She was the wife of the late Edmund A. Welch. Born in Somerville, she was a graduate of Somerville Schools. Mrs. Welch was a resident of Stoughton since 1952 and a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Welch was a member of Massachusetts Catholic Women's Guild and also was a foster mother for over 60 infants awaiting adoption through Catholic Charities. She enjoyed her family, reading, knitting, spending time at the beach and loved children.
She is survived by her children: Edmund F. of Wrentham, Elizabeth J. "Bette" Lindberg and her husband Robert of W. Bridgewater, Arlene F. Bown and her husband Richard of Stoughton, William A. Welch and his wife Francine of S. Dennis, Lynne E. Casano and her former husband Paul of Stoughton and Stephanie P. Killala and her husband Martin of Harwich. She was predeceased by her husband Edmund and her siblings: Dorothy Corbin, Sr. Elizabeth Corbin, RC, Marion MacKenzie and Martin Corbin, John Corbin and Joseph Corbin. She was the grandmother of Matthew & Sean Bown, Kelly & Kristin Welch, Elizabeth Casano, and Kevin, Shannon & Dominic Killala.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 4 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Donations in Lillian's name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, 02368. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
