Liberto A. Fraga, 68, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at the Tippett House in Needham on Thursday, November 5, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of 41 years of Maria Fernanda (Valadao) Fraga. Son of the late Mateus and Rosa (Amaral) Fraga, he was born and educated in Flores, Azores, Portugal. He moved to Stoughton in 1971. Liberto worked in the maintenance department for the Stoughton Housing Authority for many years before retiring 6 years ago. He was a member of both the Sociedade Filarmonica De So Joo and Club Luis de Camoes both in Stoughton. Mr. Fraga was an excellent handyman and built his own home in Stoughton. He enjoyed playing music and soccer.
In addition to his wife, Liberto is survived by his daughters, Michele R. Johnstone and her husband Jay of Bridgewater and Diane M. Jacobs and her husband Seth of Sharon. He was the grandfather of Aidan, Colin and Abby. He was the brother of Laurenio Fraga of Stoughton and the late Licinio Fraga and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, November 9 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
