Leon L. "Lee" Gould of Sharon died Tuesday Jan 22, 2013 after a brief illness at Norwood Hospital at age 92. He was the Beloved Husband of Phyllis A. (Jubett) Gould. Born in Malden, he was raised and educated in Jamaica Plain section of Boston. Mr.Gould entered the U.S. Coast Guard in 1942 serving during WW II serving in Greenland and the U.S. Coast until being Honorable discharged in 1946.
After serving his country, he attended Boston University where he obtained his Bachelors Degree and also his Masters Degree. He was a professional singer and sang in many clubs in Boston , New York City and along the east Coast. He was a member American Guild of Variety Artists (AGUA). He was a well Know Principal for the Quincy Elementary Schools, serving as Principal at Montclair Elementary School, also Gridley Bryant, and Beechwood Knoll Schools. He was also Principal at the Hunt School in Bridgewater. He was a member of (NEA) National Education Assoc,, (MRTA) MA Retired Teachers Assoc. and (MTA) MA Teachers Association. He was a resident of Sharon for over 50 years, and along with his wife, were former members of Sharon Country Club.
In addition to his wife Phyllis of 63 years, he is survived by his children Larry G. Gould of Sharon, Phyllis A. Handy of Newburyport, Kenneth P. Gould and his wife Nancy of Burbank, CA. and Stephanie L. Linnehan and her Husband Daniel of Foxboro. Also his grandchildren, Nicholas Gould, Daniel, David and Andrew Linnehan. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
At Lee's request, Private Family Funeral Services are being held on Saturday Jan 26th in the Farley Funeral Home 358 Park St. Stoughton, followed by burial with Military Honors at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon. If friends wish donations in Lee's name may be made to a Charity of ones choice.
