Leo D. Benoit, 74, died unexpectedly at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on Sunday, November 13. He was the husband of the late Carole Ann (Callahan) Benoit. Born in Cambridge, he was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Mr. Benoit was a resident of Stoughton for over 50 years. He was an U.S. Army and National Guard Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Benoit was a Meat Cutter at First National Stores in various New England locations for 35 years before retiring at age 58. In his free time he enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors.
Mr. Benoit is survived by his son, Stephen D. Benoit of Stoughton, as well as his sisters, Dorothy Stanley of Burlington and Marie Kashmanian of Medford and his brothers, William Benoit of Hingham and Leonard Benoit. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Donations in Leo's name may be made to the American Heart Assn., 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
