Lee J. Fenton, Sr., 75, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Thursday, February 27. He was the husband of Mary E. (Cordaro) Fenton. Born and raised in Boston, he was educated in Boston schools. He was a resident of Stoughton for 48 years. Mr. Fenton was an auto mechanic and also taught auto mechanics at Good Will in Boston for 10 years. He previously owned a Texaco gas Station in Whitman many years ago. He received an award from Boston Mayor Kevin White for overcoming a handicap to teach auto mechanics. He loved cars, especially antique cars and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Fenton is survived by his children, Lee J. Fenton, Jr. of Attleboro, James J. Fenton of Brockton, Michael D. Fenton and Christine M. King both of Stoughton. He was the brother of Herbert Fenton, Jr. of Rockland, Michael Lee of Saugus and the late Patricia Hough O'Handley and James Fenton. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, March 3 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Church, Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lee's memory may be made to Perkins School for the Blind, 175 N. Beacon St., Watertown, MA 02472.
