Lawrence C. Bartlett, 88, of Carver, formerly of Stoughton, died at his home on Wednesday, August 17 surrounded by his family. Born in Hull, he lived in Braintree and Dorchester before moving to Stoughton in 1961. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Tweedie” (Glancy). Mr. Bartlett was the devoted father of Lawrence J. of Easton, Debra Gagnon of Carver, Gregory J. and Carol Trocki both of Stoughton. He was the loving grandfather of Jackie, Scott, James, Amanda and Nicole. He is survived by a loving sister, Shirley L. Bartlett of N. Weymouth and was the brother of the late Jack, Bud and Paul. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a dearest friend, Mrs. Gwen Whiting of Paignton, Devon, England.
Mr. Bartlett served on a LCT Landing Craft during the Normandy Invasion, receiving a Bronze Star for services in the U.S. Navy. He was a charter member of O.F.D. Men’s Club in Dorchester. He attended Boston Trade and Franklin Tech. He retired from the Excel Tool & Die Co. of Quincy after 35 years of service.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 4-7 PM. Burial will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date.
