Lawrence J. "Larry" Barrett

Lawrence J. “Larry” Barrett, 75, a resident of East Falmouth, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 8, 2023.  He was the loving husband of Corinne M. (Farrell) Barrett for 53 years.  Son of the late James E. and Evelyn V. (Janson) Barrett, he was born in Brockton and raised in Stoughton.  Larry was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1966.  He was a lifelong resident of Stoughton until moving to East Falmouth 25 years ago.  He also spent winters in Naples, FL for many years.  Larry worked for the Stoughton Public Works Department for 43 years and was the Superintendent for many years before retiring 15 years ago.  He was a former member of Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton and was a member of the Mackenzie Boat Club on Cape Cod.  He was an avid Patriots fan and season ticket holder for over 25 years.  He enjoyed reading, particularly history books, and boating but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his beloved English Bulldog, Olivia.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by his beloved daughters, Suzanne M. Barrett and her husband Jonathan “JB” Beder of Stoughton, Sandra A. Barrett, Det. Stoughton PD of Stoughton and Stacey L. Connolly and her husband Steven of Weymouth.  He was the proud grandfather of Jacob, Mitchell and Caden Beder, Mason and Cori Connolly and Cian Barrett.  He was the brother of the late James, Thomas and Robert Barrett and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 12 from 3-7 PM.  Funeral Service and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry‘s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
