Laura King

Laura King, of Canton, passed away on June 23, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Laura is survived by her mother, Margaret M. (Egan) King, her sisters, Paula M. Deegan and her husband Paul of Canton, Barbara A. Savage and her husband Theodore of Canton, Linda J. McCloud and her husband Stephen of Canton, Lisa M. King of Marshfield, and her brothers John J. King of Marshfield and Edward King of Canton, many nieces and nephews. Laura was predeceased in life by her beloved father, the Honorable Judge Paul H. King.
Laura was a 1980 graduate of Curry College and the New England School of Law where she received her JD in 1993. An active member of the Massachusetts Bar, Laura practiced law both in the private and public sector. Most recently, Laura was employed as an attorney with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, Highway Division, Right of Way Bureau, a position she held since 1999. Laura wishes to extend her sincere thanks and appreciation to her physician, Dr. Daniel P. Silver, the nurses and staff of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Breast Cancer Unit, for their care, compassion and tireless efforts in treating her illness.
There are no calling hours. Laura, in the unending desire to help others, has left her remains to the Harvard Medical School for anatomical teaching and research. A memorial mass and celebration of Laura's life will be held at The Basilica of Our Lady Perpetual Help (Mission Church), 1545 Tremont Street, Boston, MA on Monday, June 28th, 2010 at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Laura's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, Attention, Contribution Services.
