Kiely I. O'Connell, 64, died unexpectedly at her home in Stoughton on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. Born in Norwood, daughter of the late Isabella (Jamieson) and C. James O'Connell, she was raised in Stoughton, attended St. Mary's School and was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1975. She later graduated from Massasoit Community College with her degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for several area hospitals, including the Mass Hospital School in Canton, for many years. She retired several years ago. She was a longtime volunteer at the Stoughton Public Library in the Adult Literacy Program. Kiely never hesitated to help others, whether friend or stranger. She was a lover of all animals, especially her pets, including her beloved childhood pony Princess.
Kiely is survived by her siblings; Colleen Warren of VT, Kathleen Faust and her husband Ted of NH, Neil O'Connell and Richard O'Connell both of Medford and was predeceased by her sister Mary Beth O'Connell. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Trailers.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic restrictions, Private Family Services will be held with burial in the family plot at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Donations in Kiely's memory may be made to the Home for Little Wanderers, 10 Guest St., Boston, MA 02135.
