Khacher S. Dostoomian

Khacher S. Dostoomian, 88, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was the husband of the late Mariam R. (Sarkisian) Dostoomian for 60 years. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in South Boston, graduating from South Boston High School. Khacher was a Seaman 1st Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of World War II. He resided in Stoughton for the past 59 years. Mr. Dostoomian was a sheet metal worker in the area for many years before retiring over 20 years ago. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, playing cards and watching football.

Mr. Dostoomian is survived by his children, Dorothy Harmon and her husband Larry, James "Hagop" Dostoomian and his wife Judy and Laura R. Murphy and her husband Bill all of Stoughton. He was the brother of Ashod Dostoomian of Stoughton and the late Bedros Dostoomian, Helen Arikian and Eva Kaynakian. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, March 5 at 8:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Khacher's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church, 38 Elton Ave., Watertown, MA 02472.
