Kenneth Mooney passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 18, 2024. Kenny was a long time resident of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He was born in Stoughton, MA to Edmund A. Mooney and Catherine ( Duggan ) Mooney. He was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1974, where he played hockey. Kenny had worked in construction after high school, started his own business and fought professionally as a lightweight boxer. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale in 1980 where he relocated his business and also worked as a professional bartender. After he sold his business he began working at Life Alert where he moved from sales to management. He retired in 2022.
Kenny leaves his immediate family, Karen Mooney Mullaney of Largo, FL, Kevin Mooney and his wife Jane of Stoughton, Kirk Mooney and his wife Diana of Cedartown, GA, and Kyle Mooney and his wife Corleene of Jacksonville, FL. He was predeceased by Kathleen Leahy Mancinelli of W. Bridgewater. He also leaves his beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Additionally, Kenny also leaves his many friends and neighbors from Ft. Lauderdale, and his coworkers at Life Alert.
Kenny will be interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Stoughton and a memorial service is planned at a later date. Anyone who knew Kenny knows that if help was needed, he was always there. In lieu of flowers or donations, keep his memory alive by doing the same, as would be his wishes.
