Kenneth Walter Brown, age 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 12, 2024, after a lengthy battle with dementia, at Madonna Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitative Care in North Attleboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith E. (Beane) Brown, of 42 years before her passing in 2014. Born, raised, and educated in Roxbury, he was the son of the late Walter Brown and Gladys (Bickerstaffe) Brown, and a graduate of Boston Trade High School, Class of 1960.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps at age 18, proudly serving his country on active duty for many years, and then continuing as a reservist. He often used the mantra “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” He met his future wife, Judy, at Dudley St. Baptist Church in Roxbury. They married in May of 1972. In 1975, they moved to Stoughton, where they became longtime residents and started their family. He worked at Robert Reiser Company in Canton for over 20 years as a carpenter, before retiring in March 2012.

He was a longstanding member of the Boston Baptist Social Union, serving as it's president in 1998. Ken was a very devoted Camp Master to the Boy Scouts, working with youth and adult leaders, pledging support, guidance, and trust within the community for over 30 years. His family often said he ‘lived and breathed’ the Scouts, staying involved throughout his life to dedicate his time to those who were interested. He was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Stoughton for over 30 years, serving as a Deacon and providing countless hours to the church community and its activities. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Ken is survived by his children, Jennifer L. McGloin and her companion Denis M. Grow of Brockton, and Scott E. Brown and his husband Shawn J. Hamilton of Attleboro. He was predeceased by his daughter Wendy E. Brown. He was the beloved “Bampie” to Anthony McGloin, Dominic McGloin, and Makayla Grow.

Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt.27), Stoughton, on Thursday September 19th from 5-7 PM.
