Kathleen M. "Kay" (Kelly) McEwan, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died at Lifecare Center of West Bridgewater on Tuesday, December 30 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter J. McEwan. Born and raised in Everett, she was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1941. She was a resident of Stoughton for over 60 years. Mrs. McEwan was the cafeteria manager at Gibbons Elementary School in Stoughton for 25 years before retiring in 1992. She was a longtime communicant and active parish volunteer at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. An avid reader, she was a frequent patron of the Stoughton Public Library. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and walking.
Mrs. McEwan is survived by her children, Elizabeth A. "Betty" Wisgirda and her husband Robert of Brockton, William T. and his wife Betty of Stoughton, Linda J. Nadeau and her husband David of Bridgewater, Kathleen E. Hanns and her husband Billy of MD and Jean C. Fratus and her husband Gary of Holbrook. She was the sister of Thomas Kelly of Marstons Mills and Edward Kelly of Stoughton and was predeceased by 8 brothers and sisters. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, January 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM.
