Kathleen (Sullivan) Day, 78, died peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, June 15, 2024 surrounded by loved ones, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.
Kathy was the wife of the late James W. Day and Robert Burrill. Born and raised in Fitchburg, she was a graduate of St. Bernard’s High School. Kathy was a longtime resident of Easton and raised her three children there before moving to Oak Point in Middleboro with her husband Jim over 20 years ago. It was at Oak Point where they made lifelong friends and Kathy was a member of the “Magnificent Seven”, along with many other wonderful neighbors and friends.
Kathy worked as an Administrative Assistant for several years at Tyco in Mansfield. After her retirement, she was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother, and grandmother who loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. Whenever possible, Granny would be at every lacrosse, soccer, football, swimming, sailing, tennis, and baseball event. Whether it was the extreme heat or cold, Granny would be wrapped up in her blanket and ready to cheer on her grandchildren and their teammates. Granny loved sitting in her den reading her books, and telling stories of her past to whomever would listen. Everyone admired Granny’s vivid memories. Above all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her family and her friends.
Kathy is survived by her three children, Jeffrey Burrill of San Jose, California, Gregory Burrill and his wife Melissa of Scituate, and Julie Willett and her husband Andy of Marshfield along with her sister Patricia Richard of Fitchburg. Kathy was predeceased by her two brothers and two sisters. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson, Riley, Reese, Madison, Declan, Alex, Drew, Cole, and Luke as well as many nieces and nephews. We would be remiss not to mention all of Granny’s granddogs whom she loved with all of her heart.
Graveside services will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 10:15 AM. Friends and family are invited. Arrangements by the Farley Funeral Home, Stoughton. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Kathy’s name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
