Kathleen G. Carolan

Kathleen G. (Grady) Carolan, 104, died peacefully at Copley at Stoughton on Saturday, April 27. She was the wife of the late Vincent H. Carolan. Born in Boston and raised in West Roxbury, she was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Class of 1928 in Boston and Trinity College, Class of 1932 in Washington, DC. She was a resident of Stoughton since 1949. Mrs. Carolan was the first permanent lay teacher at St. John School in Canton. She taught at St. John's for 20 years before retiring 34 years ago. She was a member of the Stoughton Women's Club and Trinity Alumni Association.

Mrs. Carolan is survived by her children, Vincent "Hugh" Carolan, Jr. and his wife Nancy and Martha C. Sampson and her husband William all of Stoughton, Lucia C. McNamara and her husband Frank of NH and FL, Paul T. Carolan of Woodstock, NH and Brenda C. MacNeil and her husband Stephen of Chapel Hill, NC. She was the sister of the late Thomas J. Grady, Jr. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday, April 30 from 9-10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Holyhood Cemetery in Chestnut Hill. Donations in Kathleen's memory may be sent to the St. John School Foundation, 700 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021.
