Katherine A. (Mackie) Paradis, 52, died at home on Thursday, January 11, after a battle with liver disease. Born in Milton, she was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, Class of 1972 and Bridgewater State College, Class of 1976. She was a resident of Franklin for the past 17 years. Mrs. Paradis worked as a Special Needs Teacher for the Franklin Public Schools for several years, retiring about 3 years ago. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Mrs. Paradis enjoyed singing and was a member of the Boston Paulist Center Chorale and the Franklin Community Choral. In her free time she also enjoyed knitting and teaching.
She is survived by her three sons, Jason, Kyle and Eric Paradis all of Franklin. She was the sister of Kevin J. Mackie and his wife Marianne of Mansfield and Pauline T. Hurley and her husband John of Stoughton. She was the aunt of Teresa Gwynn, Elizabeth Mackie, Emma Mackie, Joseph Gwynn and William Mackie. She is also survived by her former husband Richard Paradis.
