Katherine T. (McDonough) Duffy

Katherine T. (McDonough) Duffy, 93, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully on Saturday, April 13, 2019 with her loving daughter by her side. She was the wife of the late John Francis Duffy. Daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (McMillan) McDonough, she was born and raised in Dorchester and attended Dorchester and Canton schools. Katherine was a resident of Stoughton since 1954. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Long Island Hospital in Boston and the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton, where she worked for over 20 years. She retired at age 65. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, watching television and spending time with her beloved family.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Louise A. Soto of Stoughton, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings; Francis McDonough, Charles McDonough, Virginia Collins and Claire Gerstel. Katherine was the aunt of William Walker of FL, Leo Gerstel of Reading, Carol McBride of Weymouth, Roy Gerstel of MA and the late Warren Walker and Jean O'Toole. She is also survived by several other niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 9-11 AM followed by Funeral Prayers at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Katherine's memory may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Society, POB 515, Northampton, MA 01061.
