Julia F. (Knox) Hines, 95, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late John P. "Jack" Hines. Daughter of the late John P. and Julia F. (Ferris) Knox, she was born and raised in Roxbury and graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. She moved to Stoughton in 1956. Julia was a salesperson at Women's Apparel in Stoughton for 20 years before retiring in 1982. She enjoyed square dancing and ballroom dancing with her husband as well as traveling. She also enjoyed the "Card Club" with her husband and friends for many years.
Julia was the mother of Peter J. Hines of Stoughton, Ellen A. Marinakis and her husband George of Foxboro, Michael F. Hines and his wife Wendy of Stoughton and the late Paul J. Hines. She was the grandmother of Michael S. Hines, Lindsey B. Murphy and her husband James, Nicholas G. Marinakis and his wife Kristen and Christina H. Danna and her husband Anthony and the great-grandmother of Mackenzie Hines, Paxton and Charlotte Murphy, Georgia Marinakis and Sophia and Luca Danna. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 3 brothers and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, funeral services are private with interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations in Julia's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
