Judith C. (Barton) O'Neil, 69, died on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Norwood Hospital. Judy was born and raised in Dorchester and was a long-time resident of Stoughton. Fulfilling a childhood dream, she earned her nursing degree from Laboure College in 1982. Being a registered nurse was Judy's calling and she cared for patients at Carney Hospital with compassion, humor, and knowledge for over 30 years. Judy had a warm smile, a stubborn streak, and an undying love for Elvis. She was a tea drinker and picky eater. She made homemade limoncello and amazing waffles.
If being an RN defined Judy so did being a loyal and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two children, Eric O'Neil of Stoughton and Amanda "Mandy" (O'Neil) Catanzano and her husband Keith of Washington, D.C. She was the adored Grammy of Abigail Bishop and Max, Ian, and Lea Catanzano. Judy was the beloved daughter of the late George and Marie Barton and the doted upon little sister of her older brothers, the late Paul and Ronald Barton. She is survived by many other family members, and was blessed with a truly extraordinary circle of friends.
