Judith A. Anastasi

Judith A. Anastasi, age 69, died Monday August 7, 2023 at her home in Stoughton after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Born and raised in Dorchester, the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Margaret T. (Mills) Anastasi, she attended the Boston Public Schools and was a 1971 graduate of Dorchester High School. Following a family move to Brockton, she continued her education by focusing on health care and earning her Registered Nurse’s License from the Catherine Laboure’ School of Nursing at Carney Hospital, Dorchester. Her long nursing career included extended periods at several area hospitals including Brockton Hospital, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and Waltham Deaconess Hospital before finally retiring from the Newton Wellesley Hospital in 2020. In her “spare time” Judy also attended Bridgewater State University and graduated with Bachelor’s Degree in Business.

Judy was an avid reader and was a member of the Massachusetts Nursing Association. She was a jogger and an exercise enthusiast and was a longtime member of Elite Fitness in Stoughton. She will be remembered as a sweet, strong and brave person who could face adversity with great determination and still maintain a positive outlook on life.

In addition to her Lifetime Partner Arthur F. Sullivan of Stoughton, she is survived by her son Joshua D. Silva of Brockton and her brother Michael J. Anastasi of Rockland. She was the aunt of Michael J. Anastasi, Jr. of Rockland, Ryan Bunting of Bridgewater and Christie Layton of East Bridgewater. She was also survived by numerous beloved cousins on both sides of the family tree. Judy was predeceased by her beloved sister Jean Bunting of Brockton and Plymouth.

Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday evening at 6 PM with Visiting Hours prior to Prayers from 4-6 PM. Following Cremation, a private Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s memory may be made to the Mass General Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114
