Josephine T. (Amtmann) Taylor, 96, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater on Friday, January 20, 2017. She was the wife of the late Walter M. Taylor. Born and raised in Nuremberg, Germany, she came to the U.S. in 1952 and settled in Dorchester before moving to Stoughton in 1958. Josephine was a homemaker. She was a former secretary for the Stoughton Association of Exceptional Citizens (SAEC). She was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts.
Josephine was the mother of Juliana J. Keleher and her husband Thomas of Canton, William Michael Taylor and his wife Pauline Belleville-Taylor of Taunton and the late Stephan F. Taylor and Walter M. Taylor, Jr. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Wednesday, January 25 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. James Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Josephine's memory may be made to SAEC, PO Box 153, Stoughton, MA 02072.
