Josephine "Josie" (Rincone) Bernstein-Gosian, 92, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. She was the loving wife of Sydney Gosian the late Robert "Ruby" Bernstein. Born in Nicosia, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Guiseppe Rincione and Maria Turrisi. Josie was a longtime resident of Milton before moving to Brockton more than 27 years ago. She enjoyed vacationing in Florida and spending time with family and friends. She was known to be very youthful and did not look even close to the age of 92+ years. Josie took pride in being a good mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
She was the devoted mother of Janis Silver and her husband, Albert Silver of Framingham, and the late Steven J. Bernstein and his wife, Ona Bernstein of Mansfield. She was the grandmother of Jodi Combs and husband, Charles Combs of Lakeville; Michael Bernstein and wife, Heather Carnes of Norton; Marissa Jameson and husband, Edward R. Jameson III of Mansfield; Jaime Silver of Natick; Todd Silver of New York. Josie was also very close to her step-children, Mark Gosian of Marshfield, Tedd Gosian of Auburn and the late Martha Gosian Davis, as well as several her step-grandchildren. She was also the sister of Lena DeSantes of New York, the late Salvatore Rincione and late Lannie Kuchta. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, whom she cherished dearly.
Visiting hours will be a Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9-10am followed by a Funeral Service at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Knollwood Cemetery in Canton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Donations in Josie's memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168.
