Joseph D. Turbini, 85, died Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his home in Stoughton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Linda L. (LeBeau) Turbini. Born and raised in Watertown, he was a graduate of Watertown Schools. Mr. Turbini was a Veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a resident of Stoughton for over 30 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Stoughton. Mr. Turbini worked for Dole & Bailey in Woburn and Boston for over 40 years as a longtime Salesman and retired as the Vice President of Purchasing, at age 65. He later worked for the John Dewar Company in Boston. Mr. Turbini was a longtime fan of the Red Sox and Patriots who enjoyed spending winters in Tortola, BVI, summers in Mashpee and hunting and fishing in Vermont. In 1985, he was a living donor of his kidney to his sister Eda. He ran a charity meat raffle at the VFW in Stoughton for over 20 years. He loved to travel, spend time entertaining family and friends and was the "Number One Meat Man".
He is survived by his children, Damien J. Turbini and his wife Wendy of Nantucket, Victoria L. Turbini and her husband Dean Hashimoto of Newton, Leonard L. Turbini and his partner Judy Doyle of NY and Laura M. Lafleur and her husband Rene of Lowell. He was the brother of Eda Doherty and her husband Richard of Groton. He was the grandfather of Joseph Lafleur, Robert Lafleur Gary Hashimoto and Sachi Hashimoto.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 31 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-8 PM. Interment will take place at VA National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, June 2 at 9:45 AM. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, the family has asked donations in his memory be made to the Care Dimensions Hospice, 70 Walnut St., Suite 301, Wellesley, MA 02481.
