Joseph G. Sweetman

Joseph G. Sweetman, 53, died Tuesday, September 15, at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich after a battle with cancer. He was the beloved companion of Mary Fitzgerald of Sharon. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Avon and was a graduate of Avon High School. He was a resident of Sharon for the past 19 years. He worked as a self employed contractor for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities with his friends, and most of all, spending time with his family and his dog, Bella.
He was the loving father of Jill M. Sweetman of Sharon and the beloved son of Mary Emma of Avon. Joe was the brother of Jeanine Griffith of Reno, NV, William P. Sweetman of Taunton and the late Lisa Sweetman. He was the longtime dear friend of Tom Hunt of Stoughton and Bill Gaines of Lincoln, MA. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Graveside Services will be held in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Avon on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:30 AM.
