Joseph Noel Polynice, 83, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the Brockton Hospital in Brockton. He was the husband of Anese (Luis) Polynice of Somerville. He was the son of Ms. Eliane Polynice and Mr. Marius Louis. He was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, and was raised and educated in Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti. Mr. Polynice came to the United States in 1980 and settled in Dorchester. He was also a resident of Brighton, Allston, Cambridge and Sharon, before settling in Whitman 4 years ago. Mr. Polynice worked as a Parts Engineer for Jet Spray in Norwood for many years before retiring in 1999. He attended the Adult Day Care in Sharon for several years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, dominos, reading, writing and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 7 daughters; Rachelle Gustave of Whitman, Laureine Polynice of KY, Theanard Cius of Medford, Remercile Polynice Pierre of Sharon, Archange Polynice and Sulphise Polynice both of Somerville and Flavy Isaac of Stoughton. He was the brother of Japhet Polynice of Malden, Marie Sylvain of Melrose and the late Eustache Louis and Laura Louis. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Abrianna Isaac. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Jubilee Church, 1278 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Friday, July 3 at 9:30 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday from 5-9 PM. Interment will take place at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
