Joseph A. Pires

Joseph A. Pires, 84, died at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton on Friday, April 25. He was the husband of Elizabeth A. (Kelly) Pires. Born and educated in Stoughton, he was a lifelong resident of Stoughton until moving to West Bridgewater 3 years ago. Mr. Pires worked at Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton for 40 years before working for the Local International Brotherhood Union in Braintree for several years. He retired 15 years ago. He enjoyed collecting antiques and coins.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Pires is survived by his son, Joseph A. Pires, Jr. of New Bedford and his grandchildren, Joy L. Wilmouth and Joey Pires. He was the brother of Constance Azevedo, John Pires and Anthony "Butch" Pires all of Stoughton, Henry Pires of Braintree and the late Mary Silva. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Tuesday, April 29 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 PM. Donations in Joseph's memory may be sent to Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
