Joseph A. Petrucci, 70, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at the home of his daughter, under the care of Steward Hospice. Born in Readville, he was a graduate of Boston Schools, and also attended Newbury College. Mr. Petrucci was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He worked for Poirier Sales in Norwood for over 50 years, retiring in April as the Vice President of Sales and Board of Directors. He was a member of the Lions Club of Westwood and of the Bocce Club in Hyde Park. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.
Mr. Petrucci is survived by his 3 daughters; Cheryl A. Petrucci of Stoughton, AnneMarie Rivers of Bellingham and Jill Thrasher of GA. He was the grandfather of Brittany Thorburn, Caden Thrasher and Cole Thrasher and the brother of the late Virginia Poirier and James Petrucci. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, July 25 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the Steward Hospice, 30 Perwal St., Westwood, 02090.
