Joseph B. McDonald, Jr., 80, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Monday, April 19 at the Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of 53 years to Dorothy H. "Dolly" (Tagliaferro) McDonald. Born and educated in Boston, he was a resident of Stoughton for 43 years. Mr. McDonald was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a multi-operator at New England Telephone in Boston for 14 years before retiring many years ago. He was an avid Red Sox fan and also enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McDonald is survived by his children, Cheryl McDonald and Michael McDonald both of Stoughton, Joseph McDonald and his wife Denise of Weymouth and Dorothy Vieira and her husband Mark of Porter, ME. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, April 23 at 2 PM. Visitation prior from 1-2 PM. Donations in Joseph's name may be made to the McDonald Family, c/o Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., Stoughton, MA 02072.
