Joseph A. Lazisky, Jr., 67, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, on November 13 after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Joseph A. Lazisky and Jennie H. (Rakauskas) Lazisky. Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Manchester by the Sea. While in high school, he was an all star athlete in Baseball, Basketball and Football. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served in Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 3 years and previously lived in Manchester by the Sea and Beverly. He worked for Brown & Root in New Orleans as a Salvage Diver, for many years, retiring several years ago. An avid sports fan, in his free time, he enjoyed playing 3 card poker at Foxwoods, lobstering and spending time on the ocean.
He is sadly missed by his sister Frannie Caruso and her husband Tony of Stoughton who were his caregivers for several years, Joan Burgess and her husband Walter of Beverly and Catherine Angelson and her husband John of Manchester by the Sea. He is also survived by one uncle, several aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Midnight.
