Joseph A. Homsey, 65, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a long period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 24 years of Theresa M. (Eosco) Homsey. Born in Boston, he was raised in the South End and Dedham and was a graduate of Dedham Schools. Mr. Homsey was a resident of Stoughton for over 20 years. He worked for West Roxbury Medical Group in West Roxbury as the Administrative Coordinator for over 15 years. He retired due to his illness. He also helped his wife with her daycare, Treehouse Family Day Care in Stoughton, where the children knew him as "Mr. Joe". He was known for his sense of humor and his love of his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Stephanie M. Flores of Roslindale and Anthony S. Homsey of Stoughton. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren; J.J. Colon, Freddie Flores, Mimi Flores, Joel Flores and Angelanie Gonzalez. Joe was the brother of Helen Homsey of Plymouth. He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Jenney Helmboldt and her daughter Ashlee Vasquez.
Funeral Services will be held in the Grace Church, 101 Wales Ave., Avon, on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours will be held in the church prior to the services from 9-10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
