Joseph A. Henriques, 71, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Maria E. (Cunha) Henriques. Born in the Azores on the island of Flores, he was raised and educated there and came to the states at age 18 and settled in Stoughton. He worked for several area companies, notably the Steadfast Rubber Company in Easton and Draper Brothers in Canton. He retired 3 years ago. Mr. Henriques was a member of the Portuguese National Club, and the San Joao Filharmonic Club in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed watching cooking shows, deep sea fishing and spoiling his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Ricky C. Henriques and his wife Frances of Avon and Jeffrey C. Henriques and his wife Kelly of Brockton. He was the grandfather of Amanda Henriques, Gabriel Henriques and Sophia Henriques. He was the brother of Frank L. Henriques of Stoughton, Celestino Henriques of Portugal and the late Gilberto Henriques. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, February 20 at 9:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
