Joseph T. Foster, 81, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Mary A. (Power) Foster. Born and raised in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1948. Mr. Foster was a Veteran of the US Air Force. He worked as an assembler for Masoneilan in Norwood and Canton for over 30 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Irish American Society, both in Stoughton as well as the Stoughton Senior Serenaders and the SPEBSQSA Barbershop Quartet Society. An avid Red Sox Fan, in his free time, he enjoyed singing and exercising.
He is survived by his brother F. Leo Foster of Stoughton and was predeceased by his siblings, Rita Baldwin, Helen Stewart, Margaret Danahy, Eileen LaCivita, Edgar G. Foster, Jr. and Mary Bartels. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday, January 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
