Joseph T. Cronin, 51, a resident of Norton, died at Brigham & Women's Hospital on Wednesday, May 4. He was the husband of Cheryl A. (Cataldo) Cronin. Son of Peg (Sheehan) Cronin of Stoughton and the late Joseph L. Cronin, he was born in Boston and raised in Stoughton. He was a graduate of Southeastern Regional Technical High School in Easton, Curry College and the Massachusetts Police Academy. Mr. Cronin was a resident of Norton for the past 6 1/2 years. He was a Sheriff with the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department for 5 years before working in the Norfolk County Sheriff's Department as a canine officer for 4 years. He retired 14 years ago. In his free time, he enjoyed playing hockey and flying planes.
In addition to his wife and his mother, Mr. Cronin is survived by his children, Joseph P. Cronin of Norton, Allyson R. Pelley of Attleboro and Amie M. Pasquine and her husband Andy of New Bedford and Joseph P. Cronin of Norton. He was the grandfather of Erica, Andrew and Nicholas Pasquine. He was the brother of Jeannie Silvester and her husband Bill of Glastonbury, CT and Mary Terese Spaulding of Buzzards Bay.
Funeral Prayers will be offered from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 7 at 11 AM. Visiting Hours prior from 9-11 AM. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Cronin Family, 9 Norton Glen Rd., Apt. 58, Norton, MA 02766.
