Joseph D. Connors, 77, died Friday, April 4, 2014, at the West Acres Nursing Home in
Brockton. He was the husband of Mary T. (Burke) Connors of Brockton. Born and raised in Dorchester, he was a graduate of St. Peter's School and Dorchester High School. Mr. Connors was Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a resident of Brockton for over 40 years who worked as a warehouseman for Sears in Allston and at South Bay for many years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Teamsters, the Lithuanian Club and the Polish Club all in Boston. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, model shipbuilding, attending his Air Force Reunions and spending time at Castle Island.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Marie James of Eastham, Kathleen A. Connors and Maureen Green and her husband David both of Brockton and Maria Hinderholzer of Germany. He was the brother of the late Mary V. Costello, Dorothy L. Connors, Frances Connors, James, John William and Robert Connors. He was the grandfather of Ian James, Leo Green, Nicholas Green, Felix Fuchs and Florian Fuchs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Brockton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at the VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
