Joseph A. Campanario, Jr., 72, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully on Saturday, February 28, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Stoughton, he was a graduate of Stoughton High School, Class of 1960. He was a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy and a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Joseph resided in Easton for over 20 years before moving back to Stoughton. He was the owner of the Red Wing Diner in Walpole for over 40 years. Mr. Campanario was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. He was a member of the Stoughton High School Reunion Committee. Joseph was an avid Red Sox fan and a longtime coach of Easton Little League.
Mr. Campanario is survived by his sons, John J. Campanario of New York, NY and Peter A. Campanario of Quincy, as well as his best friend, Helen A. (Zabrosky) Campanario of Easton. He was the son of the late Joseph A. and Clara (Dantas) Campanario. He was the brother of George A. Campanario and his wife Noemi of Walpole, Oscar A. Campanario and his wife Cheryl of Carver and William A. Campanario and his wife Ann of Stoughton. He was the uncle of Lea, Billy, Liam, Dorine, Tina, Melissa and Jennifer.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Thursday, March 5 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
