Joseph P. Buckley passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at age 79 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Sheila M. (Russell) Buckley. Son of the late Walter R. and Teresa C. Buckley, he was born and raised in Quincy, MA. He was a graduate of Archbishop Williams High School, Class of 1954. Joseph served 2 years in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam Era. He worked for the Brockton Public Market and Shaw's for 40 years before retiring 14 years ago. He was an avid sports fan and loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Buckley was the loving father of Michael J. Buckley and his wife Angela of Huntersville, NC, Dianne M. Rodenbush and her husband William of Middleboro and Linda J. Buckley of Stoughton. He was loved by his grandchildren, Shannon and Colleen Rodenbush of Middleboro and Emma and Ian Buckley of Huntersville, NC. He was the brother of the late Walter, Gerald and Charles Buckley and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, May 3 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
