Joseph D. Bridgeforth, 60, a longtime beloved teacher at Stoughton High School, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 16, 2018, at his home in Brockton. Born, raised and educated in Bridgeport, CT, he was a graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport. Mr. Bridgeforth earned his Bachelor's Degree in History at the University of Connecticut and was working towards his Master's Degree. Known as "Mr. B" to his students, he was a dedicated History teacher at Stoughton High School for many years. He retired two years ago. Joe was a lover of old movies and enjoyed collecting comic books. In his free time, he enjoyed volunteering for seniors and spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Bridgeforth was the son of Luvenia Roberta (Best) Bridgforth of AZ and the late Joseph Bridgeforth. He was the brother of Deborah A. Bridgeforth of MD and Michael P. Bridgeforth of CA. Joe was the Godbrother of Sydney Stokes and Terry Geter and godson of Charles and Bette Jordan. He was the nephew of Pamela C. Stokes and Frank E. Bridgeforth. Joe was the devoted uncle of Delacey R. Crump, Charles R. K. Bridgeforth and Joseph M. Bridgeforth. He is also survived by many relatives, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Celebration of his Life will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, June 25 at 3 PM. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Joseph D. Bridgeforth Memorial Fund, PO Box 93, Stoughton, MA 02072.
