Jose B. Sousa, 65, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home in Stoughton, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was the husband of 38 years of Rosa M. (Dias) Sousa. Born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, he was raised and educated in Santa Maria. He was a Veteran of the Portuguese Army. Mr. Sousa came to the United States in 1975 and settled in Stoughton, where he has lived since. He worked as a Solderer Assembler at Raytheon for over 34 years in several locations, including Norwood, Quincy and North Andover. He retired at age 62. An avid fan of the Boston Bruins and Three Stooges, in his free time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, bike riding, working in his yard and walking. He also loved spending time with his grandson.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Steven J. Sousa and his fiancé Hana Sadi of Quincy and Jessica M. Patrone and her husband Yorkin of Attleboro. He was the brother of Manuel Sousa, Rosa Bairos and Maria Sousa all of Stoughton and Irene Figueiredo of FL. He is also survived by his beloved grandson Lorenzo J. Patrone and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, May2, 2016 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-6 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
