Jose C. Soares

Jose C. Soares, 85, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He was the husband of the late Alexandrina (Braga) Soares. Son of the late Jose F. and Maria Conceicao (Costa) Soares, he was born and raised in Praia, Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal. Jose moved to Stoughton in 1970. He worked at Sharon Box and Lumber for 23 years before retiring in 1993. He also was a landscaper for Tony Oliveira Landscaping for many years. He was a member of Club Luis de Camoes in Stoughton and enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Soares was the father of Daniel B. Soares of Stoughton and the late Manuel B. Soares. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Diane J. Solomita, his sister, Virginia Sousa of Stoughton and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Monday, June 20 at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 2-5 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
