Jose A. Silveira, a resident of South Easton, died on June 5, his 67th birthday, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Maria I. (Freitas) Silveira. Son of Natalia (Mendonca) Silveira of CA and the late Pedro A. Silveira, he was born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal. He lived in Sharon for 23 years before moving to South Easton 3 years ago. Mr. Silveira was a forklift operator for James Ferreira and Sons in Canton for 25 years before retiring 12 years ago. He was a member of Clube Luis de Camoes and Sociedade Filarmonica De Sao Joao both in Stoughton.
In addition to his wife, Jose is survived by his children, Elizabeth F. Vieira and her husband Carlos, Peter F. Silveira and his wife Christa and Diane F. Isaacson and her husband Adam all of Mansfield. He was the grandfather of Joanne, Brianna and Robert Vieira, Taylor Silveira, Sam and Gina Isaacson. He was the brother of Maria Freitas of CA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Saturday, June 8 at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
