Jose Horacio Garcia

Jose Horacio Garcia, 44, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 20 in a motor vehicle accident in Dillon County, SC. He was the husband of Rosaria T. (Teixeira) Garcia. Son of Jose C. and Natalia (Araujo) Garcia of Stoughton, he was born and raised in Flores, Azores, Portugal before moving to Stoughton. He was educated in Flores and Stoughton schools and graduated from Stoughton High School, Class of 1985. Horacio was a resident of Stoughton for many years before residing in Kissimmee, FL for the past 11 years. He was a truck driver for Five Stars Transportation in Orlando, FL for the past year after working as a self employed truck driver for many years. Horacio was a member of the Sao Joao Filarmonica Society, Club Luis de Camoes and the Portuguese National Club all in Stoughton. In his free time he enjoyed playing music and cards and shooting pool.
In addition to his wife and parents, Horacio was the brother of Rui Garcia of Wareham, Helena Garcia-Kavanagh of Stoughton and the late Horacio Garcia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Wednesday, April 27 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
