Jose N. Cabral

Jose N. Cabral, 92, died Sunday, April 13, 2013 at the Morton Hospital in Taunton. He was the husband of the late Matilde A. (America) Cabral. Born, raised and educated in Flores, Azores, Portugal, he came to the US in 1974 and settled in Stoughton. He was a resident of Stoughton for many years, before moving to Taunton two years ago. Mr. Cabral worked for Corcoran Shoe in Stoughton and Sealy Mattress in Randolph for several years, retiring many years ago. He was a member of the Holy Ghost of the Azores in Stoughton and the Taunton Senior Center. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Filomena Gomes and her husband Oscar of Taunton and his grandsons, Dustin Gomes and Ryan Gomes. He was the great grandfather of Ariana Gomes and Gabriella Gomes. Mr. Cabral was the brother of Henrique Cabral of Portugal. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters and is also survived by 2 sister in laws, 2 brother in laws and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Thursday at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Blessing at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Jose's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472.
