Jose Azul, 64, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, February 5, peacefully in Brockton surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maria (Miranda) Azul. Son of the late Jose and Adelide (Gouveia) Azul, he was born and raised in the Azores islands of Portugal before moving to the United States in 1971. Mr. Azul was a window washer for Unicco and was a member of the Portuguese National Club.
Mr. Azul is survived by his children, Adelide Medeiros of Fall River and Jason Azul of Brockton, as well as his two grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexa Medeiros. He was the brother of Antonio Azul of Taunton, Cacilda Pacheco of Burlington, John Azul of Cambridge, Victor Azul of Woburn, Paula Busby of Topsfield, Paul Azul of Azores, Honoria Vidinha of Burlington and Lino Azul of Stoughton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St (Rte. 27) Stoughton on Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Stoughton.
