Jon "Papa" Galpin

Jon W. "Papa" Galpin, 65, died Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Carol A. (Cronin) Boucher of Stoughton. Born in Cambridge, he was raised and educated in Randolph and Stoughton. He was a graduate of Norfolk County Agricultural High School in Walpole. Mr. Galpin was a Veteran of the US Air Force. A longtime resident of Stoughton, he worked as a self employed painter. He was a member of the VFW and Sons of Italy both in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed painting, fishing, playing pool and singing Karaoke.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Julie Rooslet of Norton and his step children, Joseph Boucher and Donna Ceruti both of Stoughton, Christine Chapman of Wellfleet and Carol Boucher of Canton. He was the son of Harold T. Galpin and his wife Delia of FL and the late Figni (Hultzen) Galpin. He was the brother of Harold Galpin of Rockland and the late Nancy Rogus. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Friday, December 9 at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Thursday, December 8 from 4-8 PM. Donations in Jon's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
