John J. Jack Washwell

John J. "Jack" Washwell, Sr., 66, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Sharon L. (Fisher) Washwell for 44 years. Son of the late William and Florence (Holt) Washwell, he was born in Boston. He was a resident of Stoughton for the past 56 years and was educated in Stoughton schools. Mr. Washwell served in the U.S. Army National Guard and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Era. He was a truck driver for ABF Freight in Avon and was a member of the Teamsters Local 653. Jack was a member of the NRA and the Taunton Gun Club. He was also a member of the Grace Church in Avon. He enjoyed fishing but was most passionate about spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Washwell is survived by his children, Debra L. Jennings and her husband Frederick of Easton and John J. "Jack" Washwell, Jr. and his wife Kim of San Diego, CA, as well as his grandson, Christopher Jennings. He was the brother of William Washwell and his wife Barbara of Stoughton and the late Patricia McAuley. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Walter "Sonny" McAuley of Stoughton and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday, July 19 at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Service at Grace Church, Avon at 10 AM. Visiting Hours Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory may be made to Old Colony Hospice, 1 Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
